DURHAM, N.H. – Junior outside hitter Emmy Blouin (St. Albert, Alberta) registered a match-high 16 kills as she paced the University of New Hampshire women’s volleyball team to a 3-0 win against Central Connecticut State, 3-0 on Friday night at Lundholm Gym. The game scores were 30-17, 30-18 and 30-19.
    Blouin’s .364 hitting percentage ranked third on UNH’s roster and she also added 13 digs. Senior captain Sarah Rehn (Oceanside, Calif.) and freshman outside hitter Kirsten Bates (Calgary, Alberta) each notched 11 kills. Bates’ kill total marked a career-high and she hit at a .500 clip.

    Junior middle blocker Jessica Compton (Woodridge, Ill.) totaled 10 kills on the night to go along with a match-high .562 hitting percentage. Freshman libero Alyse Lahti (Pepper Pike, Ohio) recorded 10 digs on defense, while freshman setter Kate Uitti (Pinckney, Mich.) amassed 39 assists and nine digs running the ‘Cats offense.
    The Wildcats hit .347 as a team, including a game-high .484 in the second session. UNH totaled 19 kills in Game No. 1 and 2 and 18 kills in Game No. 3 for a total of 56 for the match.
    UNH returns to action on the road on Sunday, Oct. 8 at Binghamton. Match time is 1 p.m in Vestal, N.Y.
