STORRS, Conn. – Junior outside hitter Toni Barnas (Cary, Ill.) led the Wildcat volleyball team with 30 kills and a .307 hitting percentage on Saturday at the UConn Spring Tournament in Storrs, Conn.

    UNH played 10 games on the day and owned a 3-7 record, including a 2-0 record vs. the UConn alumni (25-23, 25-18), a 1-1 mark against Northeastern (24-26, 16-12) and a 0-2 record against host UConn (23-25, 23-25), Boston College (23-25, 18-25) and Fairfield (23-25, 18-25).

    Starting libero Alyse Lahti (Pepper Pike, Ohio) and freshman outside hitter Kirsten Bates (Calgary, Alberta) paced the ‘Cats on the defensive side of the ball with 30 digs. Bates also ranked second on the team with 19 kills on the day and added seven blocks which also ranked second on UNH’s roster.

 Junior middle blocker Jess Compton (Woodridge, Ill.) registered a team-high eight blocks in the tournament, while freshman setter Kate Uitti (Pinckney, Mich.) ran the Wildcats offense attack with 77 assists in 10 games.
