CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Senior tri-captain Toni Barnas (Cary, Ill.) amassed a match-high 13 kills, nine digs and a .579 hitting percentage to guide the University of New Hampshire volleyball team to a 3-0 victory over Sacred Heart University on Thursday afternoon at BC's Power Gym. The game scores were 30-13, 30-15 and 30-24.

    With the win over the Pioneers the Wildcats extend their record to a perfect 4-0 on the season.
    Sophomore outside hitter Kirsten Bates (Calgary, Alberta) had another strong performance in the win with 10 kills, six digs, three aces and a .429 hitting percentage. Bates currently leads the Wildcats with 48 kills on the season, averaging 3.69 kills per game and with an impressive .333 hitting percentage in four matches this season.
    Sophomore tri-captain Kate Uitti (Pinckney, Mich.) totaled 41 assists guiding the Wildcat offense, while also adding three aces, six digs and three blocks. Sophomore libero Alyse Lahti (Pepper Pike, Ohio) and senior outside hitter Jeanne Czipri (Aurora, Ill.) notched six digs apiece, while Czipri also added six kills.
    Sophomore middle blocker Lindsay Fogarty (Pleasanton, Calif.) and senior tri-captain Jess Compton (Woodridge, Ill.) recorded eight and six kills respectively. Compton added a .556 hitting percentage, while Fogarty hit at a .385 clip.
    UNH registered 47 kills in the match with an impressive .386 hitting percentage. The ‘Cats had 16 kills in Game 1 with a .593 hitting percentage and 19 kills in Game 3 hitting at a .289 clip.
    The Wildcat volleyball team returns to action on Friday, August 31 at Boston College to continuing play in the BC/NU Tournament. Game time at Power Gym is 11 a.m. in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
