DURHAM, N.H. – Head Coach Jill Hirschinger of the University of New Hampshire volleyball team has announced the class of 2009. Jansan Falcusan (Plymouth, Mich.) and Jessie Schnepp (East Longmeadow, Mass.) have both committed to UNH and will join the Wildcats in the fall.
"We are excited to have Jansan and Jessie as members of the UNH volleyball team. Jessie is a great multi-sport athlete and has excelled both on the court and in the classroom,” said Hirschinger. “Jansan comes to New Hampshire with a strong volleyball background and will be a great addition to our program."
Falcusan, a 5-10 setter, played for Head Coach Amanda Suder at Plymouth-Salem High School over the past four years. Falcusan was an All-Conference selection in the Kensington Lakes Athletic Association, an All-Area, All-Region and Michigan All-State selection in 2008. In addition, Falcusan was recently named a PSHS Scholar Athlete Award winner, given to student-athletes with GPAs of 3.5 or higher. Jansan plays for Legacy Volleyball Club.
Schnepp, a 5-7 outside hitter was recruited by UNH in a libero/defensive specialist capacity. She played for Head Coach Mel Dzioba at East Longmeadow High School over the past four years. She was an All-State selection in 2008 and was a three-time Springfield Republican Western Massachusetts All-Scholastic selection. Her 771 career kills, 312 aces and 458 digs helped her to be chosen as one of the “Super 7” volleyball players in Western Mass. Schnepp was also tabbed as a Wendy’s High School Heisman Award finalist in Massachusetts. Jessie plays for Western Mass Volleyball Club.
Falcusan and Schnepp will join UNH volleyball team in the fall. The Wildcats are currently participating in their spring “non-traditional” season. They will be back in action again on April 18 at Harvard.
