DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire
women’s volleyball team has announced that the team will hold
the fifth-annual “Volley 4 Holly” tournament on
Tuesday, May 12 in Lundholm Gymnasium from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event was created to raise money for Wildcat volleyball player
Holly Young, who passed away on Jan. 24, 2008 after a courageous
three-year battle with Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare form of bone
cancer.
The funds raised at the event will go to Holly Young Fund, while
checks can be made out to Friends of UNH Volleyball. Holly Young
Fund donates the money to the Holly Young scholarship set up at her
high school, the Jimmy Fund and to cancer research.
Teams can sign up until Tuesday, May 5. Teams may enter the
tournament with a donation of $50 dollars and can enter up to 12
players per roster (minimum six). Fans may attend the tournament by
donating $2 dollars as they enter Lundholm Gym. UNH varsity
athletic teams, coaches and staff will be on hand participating in
the tournament honoring Holly’s memory and helping raise
money for a worthy cause.
For more information on the tournament and to sign-up, please
