VOLLEYBALL DROPS SEASON OPENER AT SYRACUSE
In addition to Dressing and Heldman, Kate Uitti (Pinckney, Mich.) had a team-high 17 assists, while Lindsay Fogarty (Pleasanton, Calif.) had seven kills and Pauline Acres (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) and Lauren Laquerre (Concord, N.H.) each had six kills, apiece. While all three sets were closely contested, the Orange led all sets from start to finish. In the first set, Syracuse was leading 15-14 before closing out the match on a mini 10-6 run capturing the first set 25-20. In the second set, the Orange opened up a 17-7 lead out of the gate and went on to capture the set 25-18. The Orange closed out the match taking a 10-5 lead and held a lead of four points or more throughout the rest of the match and went on for a 25-19 win. New Hampshire will resume action at the Big Orange Tournament on Saturday against Sacramento State (10 a.m.) and Siena (4:30 p.m.).
