CAT TRAX: DIG PINK AND VOLLEYBALL TEAM UP TO HELP RAISE BREAST CANCER AWARENESS
By Dan Morse: UNH Athletic Media Relations
DURHAM, N.H. – On Sunday, October 4th,
the University of New Hampshire volleyball team
will be hosting the “Dig Pink” Breast Cancer Awareness
event. Contributions will be taken at the game
to raise funds to support Breast Cancer education programs and
research efforts. These contributions will
assist Side-Out in its on going mission to raise money and
awareness about Breast Cancer.
The team will be wearing pink uniforms for the game. There will also be hairdressers on site to cut 10 inches (or more) off anyone that has it and is willing to donate. Men can also help the cause; they will have the opportunity to shave their head for donation. All of the proceeds go to the Dig Pink foundation.
The support you lend is not only counted in dollars and cents, but also in the “spirit of community”. This is the third annual Breast Cancer awareness event that UNH Volleyball has been a part of. It used to be called Dig for the Cure, but they have recently merged with Dig Pink and the Side-Out foundation.
The Wildcats face off against America East foe
University at Albany Sunday at 1 p.m. Remember to wear your pink!
