VOLLEYBALL COMPETES IN SPRING ROUND-ROBIN ACTION AT NORTHEASTERN
BOSTON -- University of New Hampshire volleyball team
competed in a round-robin tournament at Northeastern on Saturday.
The Wildcats played matches against the host Huskies as well as
Boston College and Rhode Island.The team went 2-1 (6-3 overall in
sets) in round-robin play with wins over BC (3-0: 25-15, 25-23 and
15-10) and URI (2-1: 18-25, 25-16 and 15-10) as well as a loss to
Northeastern (1-2: 22-25, 17-25 and 15-10).
Offensively, Lauren
Laquerre (Concord, N.H.) led the way with 34 kills, a
.367 hitting percentage, three blocks and 22 digs. Amy Keding
(Northbrook, Ill.) added 29 kills, four aces, 13 digs and a pair of
blocks, while Jessy Dick
(Lethbridge, Alberta) had a team-high .368 hitting percentage and
nine kills and Justine
Elliott (Mitchellville, Md.) added 14 kills and five
blocks. Sara
Heldman (Greenwood, Ind.) paced the offense with 75
assists and added 10 services aces. Defensively, Jayde
Huxtable (St. Charles, Ill.) posted a team-high 44 digs
for New Hampshire.
The Wildcats return to action in their spring schedule on April 17
at UConn. UNH will play sets with region foes UConn, Hartford, St.
John's, Fairfield and Harvard.
