VOLLEYBALL FINISHES 3-1 AT UCONN SPRING TOURNAMENT
STORRS, Conn. -- University of New Hampshire volleyball
team competed in a round-robin tournament at UConn on Saturday. The
Wildcats played matches against the host Huskies as well as
Harvard, St. John's and Fairfield.The team went 3-1 (7-2 overall in
sets) with wins over Fairfield (2-0: 25-20 and 25-17), St. John's
(2-0: 25-22 and 21-17 shortened set) and UConn (25-22 and 25-20)
and a loss to Harvard (1-2: 25-21, 26-28 and 11-15).
Offensively, Lauren
Laquerre (Concord, N.H.) led the way with 37 kills, a
.242 hitting percentage, a 98.0 serving percentage, four blocks and
17 digs. Amy Keding
(Northbrook, Ill.) added 34 kills, hit at a .275 clip with three
blocks and 17 digs, while Jessy Dick
(Lethbridge, Alberta) had a team-high 15 blocks. Sara
Heldman (Greenwood, Ind.) setup the offense for New
Hampshire with 88 assists, six blocks, 22 digs and six service
aces. Defensively, Jayde Huxtable (St. Charles,
Ill.) posted a team-high 53 digs for New Hampshire.
The Wildcats conclude the spring schedule on Saturday, April 24
with their annual spring tournament at Lundholm Gymnasium. The
tournament will bring in some of New England's elite collegiate
volleyball programs as well as an alumni match and the annual
year-end banquet.
