STORRS, Conn. – Amy Keding (Northbrook, Ill.) and Lauren Laquerre (Concord, N.H.) registered 21 and 20 kills, respectively, to lead the University of New Hampshire volleyball team to a, 3-2, come-from-behind victory over Big East foe Connecticut on Friday night at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs. Set scores were 19-25, 23-25, 29-27, 26-24 and 15-13. New Hampshire improves to 5-9, while UConn is now 2-9.

Keding posted a team-high 20 digs and added three blocks, while Laquerre added five blocks and eight digs. Freshman Destiny Tolliver (Rochester, Mich.) registered eight kills, two aces, seven digs and a career-high seven blocks. Senior setter Sara Heldman (Greenwood, Ind.) dished out 44 assists and added 19 defensive digs.

New Hampshire dropped the first two sets, took extra points in the third and fourth sets and won its three sets by a combined six points. UConn captured the first set by recording a match-high 17 kills and hitting at a match-best .289 clip. The Huskies hit at a .188 clip and tallied 15 kills in the second set putting them in a 2-0 lead. The Wildcats responded with 16 kills and a .171 clip in a 29-27 win, escaping match point on multiple occasions in the third set.  New Hampshire and UConn battled back-and-forth in the fourth set as well. Although the Huskies had 17 kills, it was UNH's .286 hitting percentage was the difference in the fourth set a 26-24 New Hampshire win. The Wildcats completed the comeback in the fifth set by virtue of eight kills and six UConn attacking errors in a 15-13 win.

The Wildcats return to action Tuesday, Sept. 28 in the final non-conference match of the regular season against Harvard University. Match time is 7 p.m. at Lundholm Gymnasium in Durham, N.H.
