ORONO, Maine-- Catherine Parker (Westford, Mass.) finished in 20th place to lead the University of New Hampshire women's cross country team to a fourth-place finish at the Murray Keatinge Invitational, which was held Oct. 1 at the University of Maine.
UNH amassed 138 points to place behind Stanford University (25 points), Boston College (42) and Dartmouth College (84) in the 10-team event. Maine, the only other America East team in competition, placed seventh.
Parker, who won her last race at Central Connecticut State University on Sept. 17, ran the 5K course in 18 minutes, 0.90 seconds to lead the Wildcat contingent. Emily Mareb (Great Barrington, Mass.) crossed the finish line just under 17 seconds later, in 18:17.70, for 22nd place.
Chelsea Corr (East Greenbush, N.Y.), Heather Carmichael (Windsor, Vt.) and Rebecca Haley (Dover, N.H.) also pointed for the 'Cats. Corr earned 26th place with a time of 18:51.20 and Carmichael crossed the finish line in 19:03.80 for 33rd place. Haley placed 37th in 19:19.50.
Ashley Vance (Manchester, N.H.) and Nicole Whalen (Warwick, N.Y.) completed the top seven for UNH in 43rd (19:31.30) and 50th (19:50.10), respectively.
