WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY "B" TEAM PLACES 36TH AT NEW ENGLANDS

    BOSTON – The University of New Hampshire women’s cross country “B” team tallied 942 points to finish 36th at the New England Championships on Saturday at Franklin Park in Boston, Massachusetts.
    Turning in the Wildcat’s fastest time on the day was freshman Melissa Gunther (Manchester, N.H.) who raced to a 162nd finish with a time of 19 minutes, 47 seconds. Junior harrier Breanne Ferrin recorded a 174th place finish (19:54), while freshman Caitlin Forgit (Worcester, Mass.) ran to a 193rd finish (20:03).
    The Terriers of Boston University won the meet with 126 points, holding off second place Amherst College’s 135 points. Middlebury was third with 171 points.
    UNH returns to action next Saturday (Oct. 14) when they race in the prestigious Albany Invitational. The race will start at 11:00 a.m.
