ORONO, Maine – Sophomore runner Emily Osgood (Wellsboro, Pa.) finished in second place Friday at the University of Maine, but the University of New Hampshire women’s cross country team could not run by Maine.

Osgood finished the race in a time of 18 minutes, 53 seconds.

Junior Carolyn Durfee (Laconia, N.H.) finished in fourth place for the Wildcats, completing the race in a time of 19:13, which was just nine seconds behind the third-place finisher. Junior Elizabeth Morrisey (Mt. Kisco, N.Y.) and freshman Jennifer Racine (Haverhill, Mass.) placed sixth and seventh for the ‘Cats with times of 19:18 and 19:19, respectively. Sophomore Nicole Wrobel (Bedford, N.H.) rounded out the top 10 with a time of 19:30.

The ‘Cats scored 29 points, while the Black Bears tallied 26.

The Wildcats race again when they return to Orono on Sept. 29 at 11 a.m. for the Murray Keatinge Invitational.
