PARKER EARNS ECAC HONOR FOR WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
CENTERVILLE, Mass. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference announced Tuesday that senior Cathy Parker (Westford, Mass.) of the University of New Hampshire women’s cross country team was named ECAC Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 1.

Parker’s third-place finish Sept. 29 helped the Wildcats to a third-place showing at the nine-team Murray Keatinge Invitational at the University of Maine. Parker completed the 5K course in a time of 17 minutes, 19.30 seconds, just four seconds behind the runner up.

The Wildcats scored 163 points to finish behind Yale University (126) and Duke University (57).

The ECAC is the nation’s largest conference with 321 colleges and universities. The conference, which stretches from Maine to Georgia and westerly to Illinois, recognizes more than 4,000 student-athletes in 21 sports.

UNH will return to action Oct. 12 at the Penn State National Invitational in State College, Pa.
