DURHAM, N.H. – Sophomore Erica Jesseman (Scarborough, Maine) and freshman Liz Campbell submitted respective fifth- and sixth-place finishes Saturday afternoon to help the University of New Hampshire women’s cross country team to a third-place showing at the season-opening quad meet with Providence College, Boston College and Georgia State College at the College Woods course.

Jesseman completed the run in 17 minutes, 42 seconds, while Campbell finished just six seconds later at 17:48.

The Wildcats finished with 61 points, just two behind Boston College (59). Providence led the way with 18 points, while Georgia State College rounded out the four teams with 150 points.

Senior Liz Morrissey (Mt. Kisco, N.Y.) and junior Courtney Hamer (Andover, Mass.) finished 13th and 15th, respectively, finishing in times of 18:09 and 18:15. Junior Emily Osgood (Wellsboro, Pa.) was the fifth fastest Wildcat, placing 22nd in a time of 18:45.

The Wildcats return to action Saturday, Sept. 20 at noon when they take part in the Central Connecticut State Invitational at Stanley Quarter Park.
