WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY PLACES FOURTH AT PRE-AMERICA EAST MEET
DURHAM, N.H. - Sophomore Keely Maguire (Georgetown, Mass.) raced to a fourth-place finish as the University of New Hampshire women's cross country team also placed fourth overall at the Pre-America East Meet on Sunday afternoon at the University of Vermont.
The Wildcats finished with 73 points, behind Boston University (49), Vermont (56) and the University of Maine (63), but ahead of the University at Albany (89) and St. Michael's College (189).
Maguire finished the 5,050-meter course in 18 minutes, 49.91 seconds. Boston University's Andrea Walkonen won the race in 17:50.68.
Junior Erica Jesseman (Scarborough, Maine) and senior Courtney Hamer (Andover, Mass.) placed 13th and 14th, respectively, finishing in times of 19:23.48 and 19:32.60.
Junior Allison Letourneau (Kingston, Nova Scotia) crossed the finish line in 17th at 19:40.19, while classmate Jennifer Racine (Haverhill, Mass.) rounded out the Wildcats scorers as she finished 25th out of the 86-runner field in 20:03.27.
The Wildcats return to action Friday, Sept. 25 at 3 p.m. when they head north to take on Maine in a dual meet.
