WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY OPENS SEASON AT BRYANT INVITE

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Senior Katherine Chwasciak (Webster, N.H.) placed 14th overall to lead the University of New Hampshire women's cross country team as it opened the season at the 55-harrier Bryant Invitational on Friday afternoon.

Chwasciak finished the five-kilometer run in a time of 20 minutes, 56.88 seconds.

Freshman Cayla Pellegrini (Derry, N.H.) was the next Wildcat finisher, crossing the finish line in 17th place at 21:09.23.

Sophomore Darcy James (Exeter, N.H.) and freshmen Julia Credendino (Islip, N.Y.) and Lindsey Judge (Essex, Vt.) finished in 19th, 20th and 21st place, respectively, in times of 21:20.22, 21:28.71 and 21:28.97.

The Wildcats return to action Saturday, Sept. 11 (2 p.m.) at the Boston College Invitational.
