WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY FINISHES SECOND AT BOSTON COLLEGE INVITE

BOSTON – Seniors Erica Jesseman (Scarborough, Maine) and Sydney Fitzpatrick (Billerica, Mass.) placed sixth and eighth, respectively, to power the University of New Hampshire women's cross country team to a second-place finish at the Boston College Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Franklin Park.

The Wildcats finished with 74 points, while Boston College won the meet with 31 points.

Jesseman completed the five-kilometer run in a time of 17 minutes, 47 seconds, while Fitzpatrick finished in a time of 17:57.

Graduate student Clare Egan (Cape Elizabeth, Maine), senior Allison Letourneau (Kingston, Nova Scotia) and junior Elizabeth Campbell (Colonia, N.J.) finished 21st, 22nd and 23rd, respectively, in times of 18:32, 18:33 and 18:36. Freshman Elise Beattie (Woodstock, Ill.) rounded out the top 25 for the 'Cats, placing 25th in 18:37.

The Wildcats return to action Friday, Sept. 24 at 4 p.m. when they travel north to take on the University of Maine.
