WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY PLACES NINTH AT PAUL SHORT INVITE

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Seniors Sydney Fitzpatrick (Billerica, Mass.) and Erica Jesseman (Scarborough, Mass.) finished 30th and 34th, respectively, as they lead the University of New Hampshire women's cross country team to a ninth-place finish overall at the 41-team Paul Short Invitational on the campus of Lehigh University.

With 352 points, the Wildcats were the top America East finisher. Georgetown University won the meet with 34 points.

Fitzpatrick finished in 21 minutes, 19 seconds, while Jesseman crossed the finish line at 21:21.

Freshman Elise Beattie (Woodstock, Ill.) placed 82nd in a time of 21:59, while senior Allison Letourneau (Kingston, Nova Scotia) was 94th in the 367-runner field in 22:07.

Senior Jennifer Racine (Haverhill, Mass.) was 112th in 22:18.

Junior Elizabeth Campbell (Colonia, N.J.) and graduate student Clare Egan (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) rounded out the Wildcat finishers by placing 145th and 147th, respectively, in times of 22:38 each.

The Wildcats return to action Friday, Oct. 9 (12 p.m.) at the New England Championship at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass.
