HANOVER, N.H. – Sophomore Elise Beattie (Woodstock, Ill.) placed fifth overall to lead the University of New Hampshire women's cross country team to a third-place finish at the Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday morning.
Beattie completed the 5-kilometer course in a time of 17 minutes, 27 seconds.
The Wildcats finished with a total of 97 points, placing ahead of Brown (106) and Middlebury (107), but behind Dartmouth (16) and Boston College (58).
Senior Jennifer Racine (Haverhill, Mass.) was the next Wildcat finisher, as she placed 18th at 17:53.
Freshman Marina Slavin (Durham, N.H.) placed 21st overall as she crossed the finish line with a time of 17:58.
The Wildcats return to action on Saturday, Sept. 24 when they visit Maine at 3 p.m.
